The last 6 weeks have been busy for us: a baby, nose surgery, moving, unpacking, sickness, a wedding, a baby blessing, family reunions, new job, birthdays, sickness again. Not much of a postpardom recovery, needless to say.
Sweet Maya was sad alot when it came to nursing/eating. With much trial and error (and cleaning up alot of baby throw up) we have discovered that Maya has a pretty sensitive tummy and prefers if I don't drink milk or eat chocolate. It actually helps! I've been doing some research on the matter...apparently infant gastrointestinal tracts may have a hard time breaking down cow's milk protiens because they are still immature (0-4 months) It can cause them to be fussy, usually in the evenings (the feedings all day cause problems in the lower tract; painful gas, etc) and throw up ALOT (we're talking like a pint of barf!!) right after eating. Some experts call this 'colic' but I always thought colic was when babies cried and cried for no reason...and gassy bellies are clearly good reasons. Anyway, baby's intestines are supposed to be mature at 4 months, which is the end of the summer for Maya. So until then, I'll only be sneaking bites of chocolate and drinking soy milk. For those of you that know me well, going without ice cream that long just might kill me, but as a mother we sacrifice so much for our children: "Sacrifice brings for the blessings of Heaven.." praise to the man, v4. Actually, I'll be just fine, infact I've already lost 4 pounds on my new 'diet.' Perhaps this will be good for me:)

Warning...Do Not Attempt!!!
It is likely that things in our life will happen all at once. The old saying "when it rains, it pours" is ringing true at our house. If you can help it, please refrain from the following all at the same time:
Move a thousand miles
Have a Baby (darling, of course)
Have a nasal septum deviation correction (septoplasty) with an inferior turbinate reduction (nose surgery)
Side effects will include: two helpless parents that are unable to lift, bend and are restricted to 'light activity', two children with no toys or a place to play because our house has mountains of boxes, a sleep deprived family and the mere hope that someday we'll all be caught up on our rest before we die!

"M" is for...
Born May 29, 2009 at 9:49am 8 lb 9 oz 21in
Another Speedy Delivery...
After having contractions for days and days (never regular) and being dialated for quite some time, we went in Friday morning for a scheduled induction. When we arrived at the hospital I was already in labor and dialated to a 7. After laboring on my own for a while, they broke my water at 9:10 and she was born 39 min. later...all naturale.
All At Once
Well, we just sold our townhouse and John Lee has been offered an associate position as a dentist with a company in Davis County, UT...Hooray! It seems like it all happens at once!
And I just wanted to say a big "Thank You" to all the family and friends who helped us out over the last month of my pregnancy! We really appreciate all your help. It was really hard for me to take it easy when I felt like I had so much to get done before the baby came. Thanks again!!

Cinco de Mustache
For some reason, every year the private, catholic dental school, with their strict code of dress and grooming standards, holds an unofficial 'Cinco de Mustache Contest.' As many of you know, my manly hubby is a facial hair artist and has whole-heartedly participated each year...

RDEP BBQ
Eric stepped in for Celeste on this one...silly boys!
We had a BBQ with John Lee's RDEP classmates. The 10 dental students that were able to do their first year in UT and then join their other 75 classmates in Omaha for years 2-4. It's been so fun to go to dental school with these great people and their families!
